Manchester United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane on a free transfer next year.
The Germany international has been a key player for the Munich giants, but he is no longer an assured starter after Michael Olise's arrival this summer.
His current deal expires at the end of the campaign and it was recently reported that Arsenal could negotiate a pre-contract this winter.
However, they are not alone in the pursuit with Florian Plettenberg confirming that United are also exploring a deal for the attacker.
Sane remains one of the best wingers in Bundesliga. He could be tempted to return to the Premier League after a superb spell at Manchester City.
Arsenal could be a lucrative destination for him, considering he has previously worked with Mikel Arteta when he was City's assistant.
A move to Old Trafford may not suit him, considering this would lead to a negative reaction among the City fans who adored him in the past.
