Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Newcastle, Garnacho starts

30 December 2024 - 19:06

Manchester United entertain Newcastle United in tonight's Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

  • Chelsea make Emiliano Martinez transfer decision
  • Arsenal to formally sign Spanish midfielder next week

  • The Red Devils have picked up just three points in the last five league games and will be aiming for a victory tonight.

Ahead of the encounter, the club are expected to be without Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte due to suspension.

    Formation: 3-4-2-1

    Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana has played every minute in the Premier League since his arrival from Inter Milan last year. He is expected to continue in goal for the Red Devils.

The backline could witness a solitary change from the defeat to Wolves. Leny Yoro could get a breather. Matthijs de Ligt could come in to partner Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez in central defence.

Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot are set to continue in the wing-back positions. Dalot has been a regular starter despite his inconsistent form.

In midfield, there could be a double change. Casemiro could come in for the suspended Ugarte. Kobbie Mainoo looked out of sorts at the weekend and could be replaced by Christian Eriksen tonight.

Alejandro Garnacho could replace the suspended Bruno Fernandes. The Argentine is most likely to be partnered by Amad Diallo in the attacking midfield positions.

Rasmus Hojlund could continue to lead the attack instead of Joshua Zirkzee. The Dane has been most successful under manager Ruben Amorim with five goals.

Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot; Diallo, Garnacho; Hojlund.
