Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly told the club's hierarchy to sign Viktor Gyokeres during the winter transfer window.
The Red Devils have been poor in the Premier League this campaign and they are currently in a run of five defeats from their last six matches.
Amorim is desperate to strengthen his attack this month and he has told the hierarchy to secure the services of Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
Gyokeres has been in sensational form with 27 goals from 27 games this campaign. He can be signed for his release clause worth £80 million.
United don't have the funds at the moment, but they could recoup part of the fee by offloading Marcus Rashford as well as Joshua Zirkzee.
The Glazers and INEOS may also need to spend money out of their own pockets to ensure that Gyokeres arrives at Old Trafford this winter.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the striker's situation. Gyokeres won't be sold for less than his buy-out clause, as per reports.
