Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the loan signing of Axel Disasi, according to The Athletic.
The 26-year-old has been tipped to leave the Blues for the past three weeks. He was on Villa's radar at the start of the window, but Chelsea did not want to negotiate with a direct Champions League rival.
Tottenham Hotspur also entered the race for his services, but Disasi made it clear that he wanted to join Villa. The Blues have eventually granted his wish and he will join for a loan fee of £5 million.
The former Monaco man has endured a tough career with the Blues and he will be hoping for better fortunes under manager Unai Emery.
Disasi is likely to be guaranteed regular playing time in the coming weeks with Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings on the sidelines at the moment.
Boubacar Kamara played as a makeshift centre-back in the recent loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. They suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat.
