Chelsea are considering a shock move for Brighton & Hove Albion forward Georginio Rutter this summer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Blues are determined to bolster their attack in the summer and they are expected to pursue a striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson.
The club have been linked with several names and Plettenberg claims that they are considering a summer approach for Brighton's Rutter.
The 22-year-old, who can play anywhere in the final third, is nursing a foot injury, but he is expected to be fit before the season concludes.
Chelsea want a new striker in time for the Club World Cup in early June. It remains to be seen whether they can convince Brighton into a sale.
Rutter continues to be valued highly by the Seagulls and it could take a significant outlay of around £50m to prise him away this summer.
Bayern Munich are also admirers of the highly-rated forward. He was previously on their radar during his time with Hoffenheim.
