Manchester United have made an opening bid to sign River Plate wonderkid Franco Mastantuono, according to Soy del Millo.
The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their attack ahead of next season and they have been touted to land Matheus Cunha from Wolves lately.
The club could make more additions to the squad and it appears they have made an approach to land 17-year-old Mastantuono from River.
The teenager has the ability to play on the right wing or the number 10 role and he has caught the eye with his dribbling skills and creativity.
He has four goals and two assists to his name this campaign, but looks set to have a bright future ahead with comparisons to Lionel Messi due to his potential.
He has a release clause worth 45 million euros in his contract. River are planning to negotiate a new deal to increase the buy-out figure.
Even if they don't, the club plan to keep him until the end of the year before sanctioning his sale. Mastantuono is expected to respect their decision.
