Chelsea have suffered a big blow in the pursuit of Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.
The west London giants are eager to sign a new striker during the summer transfer window and Gyokeres is one of the top names on their radar.
However, it appears they are trailing the Gunners in the transfer race. Gyokeres has already agreed terms over a long-term deal with them.
The 26-year-old is also 'very seduced' by the project under manager Mikel Arteta and he is prepared to join the Gunners when the transfer window reopens.
The news is a huge setback for the Blues, who are lacking firepower upfront. Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have largely misfired.
Nkunku is expected to leave after the Club World Cup, but the Blues ideally want an elite striker signed before the competition starts in the US.
Ipswich Town's Liam Delap could be the fallback option for the Blues.
