Manchester United are interested in securing the signature of Chelsea target Hugo Ekitike this summer, according to reputed journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Red Devils were keen on landing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town recently, but the Englishman decided to join Chelsea instead.
The Blues are now looking to sign Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, but they are expected to face stiff competition from United for his services.
The Frenchman had a solid 2024/25 campaign with the Bundesliga giants. He registered 22 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
Frankfurt are open to cashing in on the former Paris Saint-Germain man, but they are expected to demand at least €100 million for his sale.
United may struggle to make such a huge outlay and a deal could depend on whether they can recoup sufficient funds from player sales.
Ekitike has previously admitted that he was a boyhood United fan. This could provide an edge for the club over the likes of Chelsea.
