Liverpool have stepped up negotiations to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to The Times.
The Merseyside giants won the Premier League by a comfortable 10-point margin during the previous campaign.
They are aiming to defend their title and have already bolstered their squad with multiple high-profile signings.
The club have already signed Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez and there could be more new faces in the squad.
It is now reported that Arne Slot's side have opened talks with Palace regarding the transfer of their captain Guehi.
Guehi has a year left on his contract with the south London outfit, and they are most likely to sanction his departure.
Palace are set to demand around £50m for the England international. He could start in a rotational role for the Reds.
Arsenal are also admirers of the former Chelsea graduate, but Guehi is not convinced over his playing time at the club.
He is concerned that William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes may not be rotated in the Premier League matches.
