Liverpool have officially confirmed the arrival of striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €95 million.
The Merseyside giants have made a statement this summer with several high-profile signings. They previously purchased Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, and have now added Ekitike to the ranks.
The Frenchman had a solid 2024/25 campaign with Frankfurt, registering 22 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. He is a modern striker blessed with plenty of pace and has been compared to Thierry Henry.
He is far from a complete striker at the moment, but will have the opportunity to develop further at the Reds, who are aiming to defend their league title.
His arrival at Anfield almost certainly means the departure of Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan was the subject of interest from Napoli earlier this summer.
The Serie A champions are no longer in the pursuit and reports claim that he could move to the Saudi Pro League during the final phase of the transfer window.
