Liverpool are poised to make a big-money offer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak after parting ways with Luis Diaz.
Diaz has been a top target for Bayern Munich over the past few weeks and they have eventually agreed to sign him for £65 million.
The funds recouped is expected to aid the Reds in the pursuit of Isak, who has given the green light to leave the Magpies this summer.
The Swede, who scored 27 goals last term, has not travelled for the pre-season tour of Asia. He is determined to pursue a new challenge soon.
He has already opened the door to join the Premier League champions and they are expected to test the Magpies' resolve next week.
Newcastle value Isak at a staggering £150 million, but the Reds could strike an agreement for less as the striker could give up on loyalty bonuses.
The Magpies have identified Benjamin Sesko as his successor. Talks are ongoing with his representatives regarding personal terms first.
