Wolves and Everton are tracking 22-year-old French under-21 forward Matthis Abline amidst rumours of a potential bid before the transfer window closes. Nantes, Abline's current club, are said to want around 50 million euros for the striker, some way off of the Premier League duo's valuation.
Abline came through the ranks at Rennes before three loan spells at Le Havre, Auxerre and Nantes, with his third loan spell convincing the club to make a transfer bid in 2024. In 2024 Nantes paid a club record 12 million euros for the 6 foot striker, and the Ligue 1 outfit expect to at least triple their money should they sell him after just one season.
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira is looking to add strength to his attack ahead of the new season and has personally monitored Abline's performance and is now convinced a transfer deal should be prioritised.
Wolves have money to spend from the sale of Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Goncalo Guedes, and Abline could be their major signing before the close of the window.
Everton manager David Moyes is also known to be looking for another attacker, and has closed in on a move for Jack Grealish of Man City, with the England international likely joining on loan. Abline is said to be also on a list of the Toffees' transfer targets.
