Spurs agree terms with Diego Capel

Spurs agree terms with Diego Capel

28 May 2008 - 14:08

Juande Ramos is on the verge of completing the signing of the summer so far as he looks to raid his old club and sign Spanish starlet Diego Capel.

  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • Reports coming out of Spain suggest that Spurs have matched Capel's €15 Million buy-out clause and have now agreed personal terms with the player. It is well known that Sevilla president Del Nido had fallen out with the player's agent, meaning that a new contract could not be negotiated.

However, the reports also suggest that the only hold up is a reluctance from Spurs to pay the resulting €2 million tax bill.

Daniel Levy had hoped to split the cost with the Andalucian club, however del Nido is not so willing to make this transfer easy on the London side.

More news is expected within the next 24 hours as Spurs are keen to do most of their shopping before the European Championships.
