Arsenal are ready to compete with Manchester United to land Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi during the January transfer window.
The Germany international has fallen out with Dortmund in recent weeks and he is actively exploring a move away from the Bundesliga this winter.
United recently emerged as frontrunners after contacting his super-agent Jorge Mendes, but they are set to face competition from Mikel Arteta's side.
The Gunners signed Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to bolster the attack, but they are eyeing more reinforcement in the New Year.
The same goes for United as well. Despite signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, they are aiming to land another forward.
Adeyemi is assessing his options at the moment, but Dortmund are unlikely to let him go unless they receive assurances of a future transfer fee.
Dortmund could be open to offloading him on a short-term loan, provided there is an obligation to buy at the end of the ongoing campaign.
