Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a new injury ahead of the Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road this weekend.
The Gunners progressed to the Carabao Cup semi-final after a penalty shoot-out win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium last night.
Piero Hincapie was left out of the matchday squad completely. Riccardo Calafiori slotted alongside William Saliba in central defence as a result.
Speaking after the game, Arteta confirmed that Hincapie was absent for the London derby after picking up an injury against the Toffees last weekend.
The Spanish tactician did not reveal the extent of the setback, but reports claim that Hincapie sustained a collar bone injury on Merseyside.
He picked up the issue after colliding with Calafiori early on in the game. The injury does not appear concerning and seems very much short-term.
It remains to be seen whether he will be deemed fit to start against Brighton. The Gunners host the Seagulls at the Emirates on Saturday.
