Cesc: lets carry on winning

Cesc: let's carry on winning

17 September 2007 - 09:37

Cesc Fabregas has urged his teammates to continue their fantastic start to the season at Arsenal. Fabregas scored his fifth goal of the season at White Hart Lane in the 3-1 victory over Tottenham.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Fabregas' goal at the weekend already meant he has scored one more goal than he scored the entire last season.

Fabregas told the Sun, "Last season I had the same chances and never scored. But this year I've had even less and scored more.

"We need to keep winning, which was what we were missing the last two seasons.

"We lost a lot of points at the beginning, had to come back, and it was too difficult as the teams at the top did not lose any points.

"We're on a good run but have to keep going as this was just one game. It's just the beginning."

Arsene Wenger has also praised Fabregas after his sterling performance, "It's difficult to say if Fabregas is the best midfielder in the country because we have some great ones in England, but when you see what he is producing now, at 20, it is quite impressive.

"He works very hard and never weakens until the last minute of the game.

"You can never predict how well a great player will do but the only thing common to all great players is the vision and he has that.

"If it becomes hectic, suddenly he finds a good pass and gets you out of tight situations."
