Arsenal are working on a deal to sign RB Leipzig star Castello Lukeba during the summer transfer window, according to L\'Equipe.
The Gunners bolstered their backline last summer with the signings of Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie.
The latter arrived on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen, but he is expected to join on a permanent basis.
Despite the addition of two centre-backs, the club continue to be linked with central defenders and Lukeba has emerged as the latest target for the north London giants.
It is claimed that the Gunners are already working on a potential transfer for the 23-year-old, who has a release clause worth £69 million in his existing Leipzig contract.
Leipzig are reportedly looking for £52-60 million to part ways with the talented central defender and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal make a move for his services.
Lukeba is open to pursuing a move to the Premier League, but may struggle for playing time at Arsenal with Gabriel Magalhaes being an undisputed starter alongside William Saliba in central defence.
The left-footed ace may have to play as a deputy unless the Gunners are contemplating a shock sale of Gabriel during the next transfer window.
