Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed a hamstring injury for club captain Reece James ahead of the European clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blues recently suffered a 1-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge. In the same game, James felt his hamstring and he is now sidelined.
Speaking in today's presser, Rosenior said: "Reece, he felt something in his hamstring [after Newcastle]. Really frustrating. Hopefully we can get him scanned and find out the full extent."
Rosenior did not confirm the full extent of the damage but reports claim that the England international could be sidelined for several weeks with the latest setback.
The news is a blow for the Blues as well as England. With the World Cup starting in mid-June, James faces a race against time to prove his fitness to the manager.
Thomas Tuchel has a big decision to make on the right-back and there is a strong possibility that he may not make the final squad this summer.
