Man City to bid for Junior Kroupi

11 May 2026 - 12:20

Junior Kroupi has emerged as one of the most exciting young forwards in European football, and Manchester City are now being heavily linked with a move for the Bournemouth attacker at the end of the season. The 19-year-old has enjoyed a stunning breakthrough campaign in the Premier League and has quickly developed a reputation as one of the most clinical young finishers in the division.

  • Chelsea ready to hand Nicolas Jackson fresh chance

  • City are expected to refresh their attacking options this summer, particularly with Pep Guardiola looking to add more mobility, pressing intensity and positional versatility in the final third. Kroupi fits that profile perfectly. While naturally a central forward, he is capable of drifting wide, dropping into deeper areas and attacking space behind defenders with explosive acceleration.

His numbers this season have attracted attention across Europe. Kroupi has scored 12 Premier League goals in just over 1,500 league minutes, averaging a goal roughly every 120 minutes. He has also produced several decisive displays in recent weeks, including goals against Crystal Palace and other top-half sides as Bournemouth pushed for a European place.

What makes Kroupi especially appealing to Manchester City is his efficiency. Despite his age, he already looks composed in front of goal and rarely wastes chances inside the penalty area. Scouts have also reportedly been impressed with his movement between defenders and his intelligence when pressing from the front.

City are believed to view him as a long-term investment rather than an immediate replacement for Erling Haaland. Instead, Kroupi could become part of the next generation of City attackers alongside their younger core, giving Guardiola a forward capable of playing multiple tactical roles.

Before arriving in England, Kroupi had already built an impressive record in France. He scored 22 goals during a loan spell with Lorient in Ligue 2 and helped drive their promotion push before making the jump to the Premier League.

Bournemouth are expected to demand a huge transfer fee, potentially above £80 million, but interest from Manchester City continues to grow as Kroupi develops into one of the most complete young forwards in Europe.
