Liverpool are reportedly preparing a major summer bid for Bradley Barcola as Arne Slot looks to add even more pace and unpredictability to his attacking options ahead of next season. The Paris Saint-Germain winger has become one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe, and his performances throughout the 2025-26 campaign have attracted serious interest from several Premier League clubs.
With Mohamed Salah leaving at the end of the current season, Liverpool will be short in attack for the 2026-27 season.
Liverpool believe Barcola would be an ideal fit for Slot's high-intensity attacking system. The French international is capable of playing on either flank, thrives in one-on-one situations and has developed into a far more clinical player in front of goal over the last 12 months.
Barcola has scored 12 goals and registered six assists in 46 appearances across all competitions this season for PSG. In Ligue 1, he has produced 10 goals while averaging some of the best dribbling numbers among wide forwards in France. His ability to carry the ball into dangerous areas and create overloads has become a major weapon for Luis Enrique's side.
Liverpool's interest has also intensified because of Barcola's performances in the Champions League. PSG have reached the 2026 Champions League final against Arsenal, and Barcola has played an important role in their run to Munich. He produced two assists during PSG's impressive quarter-final victory over Liverpool at Anfield and has continued to contribute in big European matches despite competition for places in the squad.
One reason Liverpool believe a deal could be possible is Barcola's current situation at PSG. Despite his strong numbers, he has not always been guaranteed a starting place in the biggest matches. With PSG continuing to add attacking talent, there is growing belief that Barcola may consider a move where he can become one of the central figures in the project.
Liverpool see him as a player entering the perfect stage of his development. At 23, he already has elite-level experience in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, but there is also a feeling that his ceiling remains extremely high.
Slot is thought to admire Barcola's pressing intensity and direct style. Liverpool have occasionally lacked natural dribblers in wide areas this season, particularly against deep defensive blocks, and Barcola's explosiveness could give the attack a completely different dimension.
PSG are expected to demand a huge transfer fee, potentially exceeding £90 million, but Liverpool view Barcola as one of the few available wingers capable of becoming a genuine world-class star over the next several years.
