Manchester United are unlikely to conduct a medical for midfielder Ederson until after the World Cup, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Red Devils have already secured a verbal agreement with Atalanta to land Ederson, but he has yet to undergo the necessary formalities.
It was reported yesterday that he will undergo his medical in New York, where he is currently stationed with the Brazil team for the World Cup.
However, this has been quickly dismissed and it is claimed that United will have to wait until the World Cup ends to conduct Ederson's medical.
United plan to land more than one midfielder this summer and they have already strarted negotiations with West Ham for Mateus Fernandes.
The club are quite clear that they won't pay over the odds for the 21-year-old. They have no plans to meet the reported £80m price tag.
The hierarchy are in no rush to land the Portuguese and are prepared to go on a lengthy transfer saga to lower the valuation for a transfer.
