The agent of Roma midfielder Manu Kone has revealed that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with ihs client, and that the French international will make a move to the Premier League champions as soon as the World Cup completes. It is believed that Arsenal have offered a five-year contract to Kone and now discussions will take place with the Serie A outfit.
The Gunners are ready to pay up to 72 million euros to acquire Kone, who arrived in Roma in 2025 from Borussia Monchengladbach. Kone played 29 times in Serie A last season, scoring two goals, and prior to his current spell in Italy had experience playing in the Bundesliga and several years with French outfit Toulouse.
Kone has 14 caps for France's national side, and is a member of the French World Cup squad currently competing in Canada, USA and Mexico.
Arsenal are said to be in pole position to sign Kone and the club's board have given Arteta the green light to pursue the player. Arteta has also been chasing Sandro Tonali of Newcastle, but Kone offers the versatility of playing as both a defensive and creative midfielder if needed, which appeals to the Arsenal boss.
