Shakhtar Donetsk scored two early goals to see of Scottish champions Celtic in the UEFA Champions League Group D opener. Goals from Brandao and Lucarelli proved to be enough for the Ukrainians to earn three points.
The SPL champions made a terrible start to their European campaign when conceding twice within the opening ten minutes.
Brandao slotted home the opener in the fifth minute, and the hosts scored a second through Cristiano Lucarelli moments later.
Fernandinho threatened a couple of times to extend the Ukrainian's lead, and Celtic did improve a little later on as McDonald and Killen went close.
It wasn't the ideal start for Celtic but this game always looked a tough one for the Scottish side.
