No Aquilani To Juve

01 July 2008 - 21:19

Italian international striker Alberto Aquilani wouldn't be swapping AS Roma for Juventus this summer, according to his agent Franco Zavaglia.

  • Liam Rosenior confirms Chelsea star is out for six weeks
  • The Italian international was part of the Azzurri squad for the Euro 2008 finals and has been linked with a big money move to Juventus for several months.

However Roma are keen to hold onto their prized asset, whom they perceive as the future replacement for their star playmaker Francesco Totti. Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia had this to say to Radio Radio about the player's uncertain future:

"Juventus? I think Blanc should talk to Roma and not Aquilani’s father.

“We are working to renew his contract and Roma did say that we were going to meet after the European Championship.

“We will see what happens but it’s is highly unlikely that Aquilani will leave Roma.

“The negotiations will be difficult but that depends on Roma.

“I will not confirm what may happen and neither will I deny it because these situations are not always pleasant.”
