Reports from several Spanish media sources this morning have indicated that Spanish giants Barcelona are on the verge of making an audacious swoop for Romanian international striker Adrian Mutu from Fiorentina.
The Romanian is valued by his club Fiorentina at around £19 million, and coach Cesare Prandelli has already warned potential suitors for Mutu that a deal will not come easily.
The former Chelsea forward had been in stunning form in Serie A for Fiorentina this year, and AC Milan too were considering a bid for the player.
Now Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola is ready to test Fiorentina's resolve with a mega money offer.
