Sain Iker was also in great form at Euro 2008 where he captained Spain to European success.

Fenando Torres too is being hailed by the Italian press as being one of the favourites for the European Player of the Year award. Torres had a superb debut season with Liverpool as he scored 33 goals in all competitions for the Reds.
