Hierro gets job at Spanish FA

25 September 2007 - 17:10

Fernando Hierro is to be the new sporting director of the Spanish Football Federation. The ex-Real Madrid and Bolton legend had a short stint at Real Madrid as a sporting director.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 39-year-old, who retired in 2005 after a season with Premier League Bolton Wanderers, won 89 caps and scored 29 goals for Spain.

The 39-year-old Hierro will become the first person to occupy the new post.
