Newcastle's versatile defender Geremi has revealed that Charles N'Zogbia was very close to leaving the club in the summer. N'Zogbia has started this season in excellent form.
Cameroon star Geremi said: "It was in his mind to leave when I joined Newcastle in the summer. I asked him where he was going and he told me the club. I said 'Don't make that kind of mistake'.
"I told him �Where you want to go is not good' and that Newcastle was far better than the club he wanted to join.
"I can't tell you which club, though. I just told him to work hard and he would get a chance. Now you can see the results. He's great."
