Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is reportedly interested in signing AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo this January, and could pay up to £20 million for the privilege.

Scolari has yet to decide on his full list of January targets, but Pirlo has emerged as the number one candidate.



It is understood that Scolari wishes to bring in more midfielders as Michael Essien and Michael Ballack continue to suffer with injuries.



Pirlo could be allowed to leave as David Beckham's arrival is now set in stone.
