Gerets gets Marseille job

Belgian coach Eric Gerets has been appointed the new head coach of Marseille. The French club have only just parted company with Albert Emon.

  • Diouf told the website: "It was a difficult decision given the friendship that links us with Albert Emon and the work he has done.



    "The team needs a new boost. Eric Gerets is the coach who can give us it while continuing the important work of the club's sporting arm over three years.



    "His experience and the way his life has mapped out, in Belgium, Holland, Germany and Turkey, are gifts that will help our club reach the objectives that it has been set."
