Chelsea have offered Ronaldinho a reported 16m EUR a season to become their player. Reportedly, the Stamford Bridge side is eager to coax the player to the Premiership, offering him almost double his current salary of 8.5m EUR in doing so.

Ronaldinho is soon to become a Spanish citizen, which means less earnings for the Brazilian. He'll no longer pay around 20 percent of his income to the taxman, but rather 43 percent, drastically slashing his earning potential in Barcelona.



Ronaldinho could almost increase his wage at Chelsea to 60 percent. Talk of a contractual agreement is almost certainly premature, not least because the player's contract, set to expire in 2010, contains a release clause of a mammoth 125m EUR.
