ONeill expects busy January window

O'Neill expects busy January window

04 December 2008 - 09:10

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill expects to be busy in the January transfer window and will be looking to bring in plenty of new players. Man City are among some of the clubs that are reportedly looking to bring in new signings, but Villa themselves are expected to be busier.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Villa have already been linked with a move for Emile Heskey, and Randy Lerner has made transfer funds available.

O'Neill said: "I think Manchester City could be a wild card in all of this but what's to stop us from trying to do what we think we are capable of doing within our own particular means if we can.

"If it doesn't materialise it won't be through lack of trying. December will be a big month for us in terms of staying in contention. Being in Europe will strengthen our hand."
