Portsmouth 7-4 Reading
Portsmouth picked up 3 points against Reading in an 11 goal thriller as Portsmouth defeated Reading 7-4. It was one of the most memorable of games as Benjani helped himself to a hat-trick.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Two Benjani strikes had Portsmouth on top, before Liam Rosenior struck on the stroke of half time and David James then made an error to gift Dave Kitson an equaliser.

Hermann Hreidarsson restored the lead before James made up for his clanger by stopping a Nicky Shorey penalty.

The game continued to develop into an interesting battle and Benjani restored the two-goal lead and Niko Kranjcar, Sean Davis and Sulley Muntari sealed victory, with Shane Long and Shorey responding late on.

Benjani, replacing the injured Kanu up front, grabbed a fantastic hattrick for Portsmouth while new boy Muntari impressed throughout, also grabbing his first Premiership goal.
