Chelsea held by rivals

Chelsea held by rivals

29 September 2007 - 16:34

Chelsea 0-0 Fulham
Didier Drogba was sent off and John Terry suffered a suspected fractured cheekbone as Chelsea made it four games without a Premier League victory. The start to Avram Grant's Premiership managerial career could not have been worse, and the chorus' of boos rang around Stamford Bridge at the end of the game.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • England captain Terry suffered a clash to the face in the first half, but true to form played on until the break. After closer inspection, the 26-year-old was whisked off to hospital with a suspected broken cheekbone which could spell problems for England’s upcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers.

Avram Grant’s men failed to convert their chances, with Andrei Shevchenko taken off after another shocking performance.

Didier Drogba, back from injury, didn't do much better. Drogba, saw red for a second bookable offence on 74 minutes.

Fulham then went on the offensive, with Diomansy Kamara unlucky not to snatch a late winner.

Chelsea's miserable campaign continues and Avram Grant will be under pressure to make swift changes if Chelsea are to kickstart their campaign.
