Hughes urges Terry to join City

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has urged John Terry to join him at the Eastlands. Although Chelsea had rejected a £30m offer from Man City, John Terry's refusal to say publicly that he wants to stay at his club has given high hopes for Hughes.

  • The City boss Mark Hughes thinks that John Terry would love the Man City challenge. <i>"When you have been with a club at a long time, you maybe get to a point when you need a new challenge, when you think a change of scenary would just re-ignite certain things within you."</i>

The latest reports suggest that Terry is tempted by the £200,000 a week wages offered by Man City. Although Chelsea is irritated by the 'illegal approach' made by Man City and Hughes, inside reports say that City would relentlessly pursue Terry.

<i>"It's about a different stage in his life and career, and maybe that's why there hasn't been a response because John is seriously thinking in those terms. I went through that process myself and I can understand if that is the way he is thinking,"</i> said Hughes.
