Newcastle goalkeeper Steve Harper is believed to be ready to leave the club, as the Toon look to accumulate cash as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Harper is valued in the region of £1 million, and Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is reportedly keen on making the keeper his number two to Paul Robinson.



Harper is also being closely monitored by a number of other clubs, including Sheffield United.
