Fiorentinas Eboue move stalls

Fiorentina's Eboue move stalls

31 July 2009 - 02:39

Patalino Corvino has insisted that Fiorentina's move for Emmanuel Eboue has stalled because of the huge fees requested by Arsenal for the release of the Ivory Coast international. Arsenal are chasing £8 million for Eboue.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The Fiorentina chief quipped: “Emmanuel Eboue and Luisao are still too expensive and I’ve made my last offer. Hopefully they will come, otherwise we will get someone else. Lorenzo De Silvestri instead wants too much for his contract.

“Edinho would be good in midfield but Tiberio Guarente and Fernando from Porto are important options too, which we are considering patiently.

“I just hope people won’t continue talking about Felipe Melo. Last year they were saying we shouldn’t have signed him. Now I fear everybody will carry on saying that we miss him.

“Eduardo Salvio from Lanus is one of the best youngsters but we are covered in that role.”
