Arsenal in for Yaya Toure?

11 November 2009 - 04:21

Arsenal could make a January move for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure, according to reports. Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of Toure, trialling the Ivorian in his teenage years, but has so far yet to make a bid for the player.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Toure is being chased by Man City, but the interest of Arsenal will be much more appealing to the midfielder.

The Gunners are a little short in midfield, but the impressive form of trio Alexandre Song, Abou Diaby and Cesc Fabregas could put a pause on any Gunners move for the player.

Former Gunners defender Kolo Toure said of his brother: “He has had a few hard times in Barcelona. He doesn’t play a lot, and he loves football and loves to play. If he can come, especially to a club in England, he would be really happy because the Premier League is a fantastic place to play football.”
