Wigan chase Pablo Barrera

Wigan are set to make a shock offer for West Ham midfielder Pablo Barrera. The Mexican international had a tricky first season in England with the Hammers, but it seems Roberto Martinez wants to keep the midfielder in England.

Barrera helped Mexico to a victory over the USA in the final of the Gold Cup, Barrera himself on the scoresheet. Such impressive performances at international level has attracted the interest of Wigan, who are lining up Barrera as a replacement for Charles N'Zogbia, who is expected to join Aston Villa this year.

West Ham will accept a £4.5m offer for the Mexican.
