Preview: Reading vs Derby

Reading are playing Derby in the 14:00 kick off at the Madejski Stadium today. Reading have just two wins from seven games, whilst Derby have yet to win away from home and have yet to score away from home too. This really is a battle of the low-end of the table and will certainly be an interesting one.

John Oster and Ibrahima Sonko return for Reading but Bobby Convey is set to miss out. For Derby, their West Ham target Giles Barnes is looking likely to return after a foot injury. Billy Davies is likely to keep faith with Steve Howard and Kenny Miller up front in their desperate search for goals.

Reading boss Steve Coppell anticipates a tough, but very important game: "It's important, don't get me wrong, but people, and perhaps dangerously us - might look at this as one of our best chances to get three points.

"People thought Watford at home last season was an automatic win.

"But it doesn't work like that. We have to be mindful that our preparation is on the right course."

This is the first ever top flight meeting between these two sides.

Reading 3-0 Derby

It would be a miracle of Derby could pick up some points here, and like Steve Coppell said, this is the sort of game Reading should look to pick up three points. Dave Kitson is always a threat and if he plays will be eager to get on the scoresheet. Derby are the only team without an away point this year in the Premiership, all their five points have been picked up at Pride Park; Derby could get a beating today at the Madejski.
