Chelsea fighting battle to sign Luka Modric

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is trying his very best to bring Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric to the club, however, there remains some disagreement between Chelsea and Tottenham's valuation of the midfielder.
The Croatian midfielder is valued by Tottenham at around 34m GBP, whilst Chelsea are not prepared to pay anywhere near that amount and are fixed at a reported 25m GBP price.
Modric had revealed earlier in the summer that a move to Chelsea certainly appeals to him; but Tottenham will try their best to keep the talented playmaker.
Villas-Boas admitted that talks were still ongoing: "We have approached Tottenham before regarding the player.
"I don't know if it's viable or not and to what extent we can go regarding his price because we are speaking about a high amount and nothing else basically.
"I just have to study the rest of the market and hopefully find a solution for my team."
