Chelsea set to complete deal for Juan Mata
Chelsea will sign Valencia midfielder Juan Mata this weekend, after the two teams agreed a 27m EUR package for the transfer of the Spain international. Mata had been linked with moves to Arsenal and Tottenham this summer; but the Blues have won the race for his coveted signature.
The 23 year old has already passed his medical at Stamford Bridge yesterday, all that remains is for some paperwork to be completed and Mata will be officially announced as a Chelsea player.
Arsenal fans will be disappointed that Mata has chosen a move to the Bridge instead of the Emirates; as reports indicated that Mata was Arsene Wenger's top target this summer.
Chelsea will pay a total of 27m EUR and Mata will sign a five year contract.
