Newcastle near Patrick van Aanholt move

Newcastle are set to make Patrick van Aanholt their replacement for Jose Enrique, who quit for Liverpool last month. The Dutch left back spent last season on loan at Leicester and is looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, Chelsea and Newcastle are locked in discussions for the Dutch player; with a fee in the region of 1.5m being offered by Newcastle, however Chelsea are looking for closer to 2.5m with buy back options.

van Aanholt joined Chelsea in 2009 but has found first team opportunities limited.
