Aston Villa's move for Gibson cancelled

Aston Villa's move for midfielder Darron Gibson has been cancelled after the Man Utd midfielder's injury was worse than expected. Gibson had been on the verge of a 4.5m GBP move to Villa Park.

Gibson picked up an ankle ligament injury in training, and will be out of action for up to a month.

This leaves him on the sidelines for United, and Aston Villa are concerned that Gibson would not be instantly available and so the transfer has now fallen through.
