Newcastle eye move for Sammir
Newcastle are scouting Croatian attacking midfielder Sammir and could make a move for the Brazilian-born 24 year old in January. The Dinamo Zagreb player is valued at around 4.2m GBP.
According to reports in Croatia, Newcastle's network of scouts have been tracking Sammir for over two months and have sent back glowing reports to Alan Pardew and his team.
The player arrived in Croatia in 2006, and he has since become one of the finest players in the Prva Liga.
A number of other teams in Europe are interested, including Spanish side Villarreal, a team that Sammir scored against last year in the Champions League. However, it appears that only Newcastle have entered discussions with Dinamo so far and so lead the way for a permanent transfer.
