Sir Alex blasts England friendly
Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson has blasted reports that England are planning to have an international friendly match in March, midway through the buildup to the end of the Premiership season.
Fergie is angry at the FIFA sanctioned international friendly week during March 26th.
United are set to take on Liverpool at Old Trafford on 22nd March, and then face Aston Villa seven days later, before a possible Champions League quarter-final first leg on 1st April.
"There is a stupid friendly week in March, but I assume it will be limited teams because you are talking about a really important time of the season for league clubs," he told The Times.
"Once the next international break is out of the road in November, there is a run to the end of the season and it will help with consistency.
"Most clubs, not just United, are finding it difficult to keep the continuity going when you lose your players for two weeks at a time.
"It is important for the national teams, so you have to support it, but the advantage is that there is a clear run after November to the Championships in the summer."
