Juventus lead Leandro Damiao race
Juventus lead Leandro Damiao race
Juventus are in pole position to land Brazil international striker Leandro Damiao. Arsenal and Tottenham are both monitoring the Internacional frontman, but Damiao's agent hinted at a move to Italy instead.
Damiao has been in sublime form this past season for Internacional, and Europe's biggest clubs have all been watching the striker in action. It does appear that Juventus are leading the race for his signature though, as the "Old Lady" scour the transfer market for a long term replacement for Alessandro Del Piero.
“It’s possible that Leandro could be playing his football in Italy next year,” Vinicius Prates said.
“It is only normal that the big clubs are interested in Damiao. We’ve received calls from clubs all over Europe. From Real Madrid and others.
“Juve are a great club and it would be an honour for Leandro to play for them. I’ve met with them, but there was nothing official. It was just an informal chat.
“We are obviously interested in Juve, but I can’t speak of money as that is a club matter. It will be up to them to find an agreement.”
