Gary Cahill's Chelsea move falls through
The Daily Express reports that Gary Cahill's on/off move from Bolton to Chelsea has officially fallen through yesterday, as the player and Chelsea have failed to agree on personal terms.
The England international centre back reportedly asked the Blues for 125,000 GBP; enough to put the defender on par with England team mate Ashley Cole. But the Blues have stricter wage structures in place since the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas, and reportedly only offered 80,000 GBP per week.
According to the report, Chelsea and Bolton had already agreed a transfer fee; but the player could not agree terms.
If it stays that way, Cahill may choose to wait until the end of the season when his contract with Bolton expires; and then make a move elsewhere. Barcelona are amongst the clubs interested in the centre back in the summer.
