Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill could raid Premier League rivals Fulham for striker Bobby Zamora. O'Neill is on the lookout for a new striker and has a transfer fund of around 25m GBP to spend on new players in January.

Zamora currently has a contract until 2014 with the Cottagers, but the striker is desperate to force his way into Fabio Capello's England squad for Euro 2012, and could make a move elsewhere to ensure the guarantee of a place in Poland and Ukraine this summer.

O'Neill has been discussing transfer targets with his chairman Ellis Short and his scouts, and has apparently decided that striker Bobby Zamora would be the best suited for his squad.

So far this year, Sunderland have struggled in the attacking department; with Asamoah Gyan taking a year long loan to the Middle East; whilst on loan striker Nicklas Bendtner has so far struggled for form.
