Liverpool target Rhys Williams eyes move

Middlesbrough midfielder Rhys Williams admitted that he would be considering his future at the end of the season. The Australian midfielder has been linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool this week.

According to reports, Liverpool have expressed some interest in the midfielder and could move for the Australian at the end of the current season. Williams himself is delighted to hear of the interest, but will stay at the Riverside until the end of the season.

“It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League and right now it’s looking good,” said Williams.

“I’m aware there has been some speculation but I am more than happy at Middlesbrough. I am well settled and it would mean so much to the town and the manager Tony Mowbray to go up.

"For me it’s not about money or anything, it’s about fulfilling a dream. I’d love to go up with Boro but at the end of the day it’s my burning desire to play in the Premier League.

“That’s what I’m focusing on my energies on now. I haven’t felt this fit for a long time and after missing so much football last season with osteitis pubis and that’s a huge bonus. I feel like I'm getting stronger all the time and playing well.“

Williams, 24, is one of the most highly rated midfielders in the Championship, and valued by Middlesbrough at around 5 million GBP. Williams is comfortable playing in both midfield and defence, with his preferred position being holding midfielder.
